Dolmabahce Palace and the Bosporus

Istanbul is one of the grand old cities of all times ornamented with many imperial palaces, fountains, cisterns, bazaars, and houses of worship and learning. It has been the capital of two major long-lasting empires and the only city built in two continents, on the shores of Bosporus, where the waters of Black Sea mingle those of the Sea of Marmara.
Throughout the history, Istanbul has been a bridge between East and West, a melting pot of several cultures, and the guardian of the historical heritage of twenty plus centuries. However, Istanbul is not only a historical center, but under the silhouette of domes and minarets there is a bustling city life, embellished with many cultural festivals and events....

Your Trip to Istanbul & Turkey: This is the page for our recommendations in planning your trip. We will regularly update this area as more information become available and questions arise from our visitors.
Conference Venue:  All Technical Sessions, Registration, Exhibits, Humor in DSP Competition and the Job Fair, except Plenary Talks and the Opening Day Ceremony, will be located in the Istanbul-Hilton Hotel and Convention Center Facilities. Please click here for information on Istanbul-Hilton.
Port of Entry: For our participants and guests of ICASSP2000 from outside Turkey, we highly recommend you fly to the Istanbul Ataturk International Airport. If your flight heads for other International Airports in Turkey, such as Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, etc., it will be good idea to have a domestic connecting flight to the Istanbul Ataturk Airport. Although rental cars are available at any airport in Turkey, we discourage you to rent a car during the ICASSP2000 because of the dense traffic and relatively high costs. The ICASSP2000 Organization Committee is diligently working on the subject of local transportation. Please check this page for announcements to make your trip worry-free.
